Amazon just released GPU cluster rentals by the hour.
It allows custom mathematical and scientific applications to run much fast than on intel CPUs.
Its not necessarily very useful for general business or web applications, but it does show both how committed amazon is to scalability, and that there is an increasing number of solutions out there.
