The best thing about cloud backup is there are heaps of choices. The hardest thing is to work out which is best for you.
My experience is :
1. know what you are trying to achieve
2. have 1 clear purpose
If its cross purpose, then 1 aim will be met well, and the other aim will suck.
Pure backup is easy, but do you also need to recovery quickly in a disaster ?
Do you want to share documents ?
Do you want to sync a file system ?
Do you need versioning, history, long term retention ?
All of the systems I have reviewed, do 1 thing well, and 2-3 sorta, and miss another few.
Like s3 has capacity, and nice longevity of files, nice security, api’s , nice download tech. But it lacks versioning, and has trouble with fast recovery (its international).
If you do have cross purposes, you may need more than one solution.
So pick your purpose, and let’s see if we can fit a solution.
